VR Arena Battle: Hell's Siren (闘技場バトル：ヘル・セイレーン, Tōgiba Batoru: Heru Seirēn?) is a boss event in Star Ocean: Anamnesis. The story continues in the event Defeat Michael!.
The featured characters are Claude and Phia. Defeating the boss yields the titles 4☆ "Arena Champion" (闘技場の勝者, Tōgiba no Shōsha?) and 5☆ "King of the Arena" (キング・オブ・闘技場, Kingu Obu Tōgiba?).
Story[]
Aboard the GFSS-3214F, Evelysse finds the Captain and Coro performing a little maintenance on the malfunctioning Battle Simulator. Upon completing the task, Coro boots it up, only they find themselves in Fun City—the entire city being one big theme park—on the planet Energy Nede. Coro says it looks like fun, but Evelysse would rather know why they are here, and the AI responds that a repair he purposefully made transported them to this point in space-time. The Captain gets angry, but Coro says the Captain could use a break since they have been working so hard lately. They are still angry, however, so Coro asks for forgiveness and says he will start working on the necessary repairs right away. Evelysse then suggests that, leaving a busy Coro behind, they both go have some fun since they are already here. Privately, she wonders if this counts as a date.
Choosing between training at the Arena or buying some popcorn (the Captain would choose "chocolate banana"-flavored), they have a day off. When the repair is complete, Coro boots the simulator up, though Evelysse xpresses doubts, saying they will probably end up in some crazy dangerous situation next. Coro dismisses it ("What are the odds of something like that happening again?"), tempting fate. They indeed make a momentary detour to somewhere unknown, but Coro manages to transport them back to the ship. Coro apologizes, and vows to return to their previously planned course posthaste. Evelysse tells him not to forget correctly repairing the simulator later.
