Swords (剣, Ken or Tsurugi?) are a recurring group of weapons in the Star Ocean series, appearing in every game to date as the weapon of choice for its male protagonist—with the exception of the Captain, from Star Ocean: Anamnesis. Swords are physically-oriented, short-range weapons that usually provide boosts to a character's Attack stat.
Not only limited to its own type, swords have several variations within the Star Ocean series, from the large greatswords, the exotic katanas, to the twin swords.
