Locations/Facilities[]

Name Entry
Larcasse Weald An expansive forest situated in the western part of the kingdom. Within its densely growing trees lurk ferocious beasts that make visits by locals few and far between. It is also where Raymond's pod landed. Careful examination of the woodlands reveal scattered traces of an ancient civilization along with what is believed to be a ritual site at its center. One can imagine that there was once a time when many people called this region home. Now, however, this forest is both shunned by locals and favored by monsters looking to roost. It is a savage place that grows more perilous with each hard-fought step one takes into its depths.
Mhedume Ruins Ruins located in the furthest dephts of the Larcasse Weald. Said to be an ancient city, but all that remains is decay. Now inhabited solely by monsters and shunned by all.
Larcasse Region A spacious, mountainous area located in the western region of the Aucerian kingdom. Although the climate is mild and pleasant relative to the harsh climes of the rest of western Aucerius, the many monsters that inhabit the area make it less than hospitable. The jagged, rocky crags scattered across the unspoiled landscape are known as the "Dragon Ribs" and are considered sacred by many.
Larcette Village A remote village located far to the west of the royal capital of Acendros. Although quiet and peaceful, Larcette's limited resources and lack of trade with the rest of the kingdom has left its residents relatively destitute. Larcette may seem like a serene farming village far removed from the growing tensions between Aucerius and Vey'l. In reality, it's so cut off from the rest of the world that access to news and goods from the outside are all but nonexistent apart from the occasional merchant who wanders through. All that withstanding, the villagers of Larcette are able to lead surprisingly robust lives through their mastery of agriculture and the occasional hunt in the forest.
Del'vyr Region An area located in the southwest of the Aucerian kingdom that connects the Larcasse Region with Delryk Village and the Seaport of Rythal. Del'vyr is a comparatively arid region and is exposed to harsh sunlight for most of the year. The heavy rains and windstorms that occasionally blow through have carved a huge valley into the rock over many years. The endemic plants and fungi have evolved over millennia to freely walk about in search of watering holes to quench their thirst. The carved rock faces throughout the region are actually exposed geological repositories dating back 500 million years. These strata chock-full of ancient fossils lie unperturbed by man, however, as they offer little in the way of valuable ore.
Delryk Village A city located in the southwestern portion of the Kingdom of Aucerius between Larcasse and Rythal. As its mines boast the highest yields in the entire kingdom, the streets of this prosperous urban center thrum with men coming from afar to work. The discovery that ore could be used as a catalyst to amplify the effects of semiomancy several decades ago has brought even greater attention to the local mines, due to their reputation for bountiful output. The city once drew many acclaimed researchers of semiomancy and even became something of a hub for academia. Though few of those semiomancers remain today, the ceaseless activity of the mines' carts suggest that their mineral resources are far from running dry.
Delryk Mines An abandoned mine in the western part of Delryk Village that was at one time the greatest source of gold in the land. Due to declining production volumes and the frequent appearance of dangerous monsters, the mine was deserted.
Seaport of Rythal A port town located in the western region of the Kingdom of Aucerius. This port offers travel by sea between the western and eastern regions of the Aucerian kingdom, allowing travelers to bypass the perilous trek across the Edahli Tines. Rythal houses many refineries that process the ore mined in neighboring Delryk, as well as trading vessels bearing goods to and from Acendros. Many come from all over seeking work or rare commodities, making Rythal one of the most bustling towns in the western region of the kingdom.
The Kingdom of Aucerius A sprawling kingdom with a history spanning more than a millennium that rules the western half of the largest continent on Aster IV. Prior to its emergence the planet was home to hundreds of small hegemonies that were locked in endless territorial disputes. It was amidst this that King Aucerius I systematized and mastered "semiomancy," a mysterious power brought over from the southern continent. He then used this power to subdue the neighboring countries and thus seize an expansive dominion. The current king is Raimbaut Aucerius, who himself is also a great semiomancer. Although the art of imbuing objects with semiomancy had existed in the Kingdom of Aucerius for some time, it was King Raimbaut who made it possible to combine multiple enchantments and thus rapidly enable the control of complex actions.
The Vey'l Empire A militant empire that controls the eastern half of the largest continent on Aster IV. In contrast to the Kingdom of Aucerius's advancement in the art of imbuing objects with semiomancy, the Vey'l Empire flourished through enhancing the bodies of semiomancers and creatures. Recent years have seen some particularly remarkable strides made in the semiomantic strengthening of living beings. The empire also boasts impressive shipbuilding and weapon development techniques. These technologies are applied to both military interests and daily life.

She dreams of one day joining the Semiomancy Consortium, the top semiomantic research facility, and learning more about iatrimancy and medicine.
Elena E-014297 An android manufactered by Arnold Robotics on the planet of Verguld. She is an executive officer aboard the merchant vessel Ydas and Raymond's first mate. She is always calm and composed and ensures Raymond and the Ydas crew are able to carry out their duties safety. Though she is an android, her open mind and free-thinking behavioral patterns make her "almost human" according to Raymond.
D.U.M.A. D.U.M.A., serial number 004213. Originally cargo transported by the Ydas. Elena put it into an escape pod when the ship came under attack, whereupon it crash-landed down on Aster IV. It hamesses powers that are neither semiomantic nor symbologic, such as deploying shields on targets or levitating them in the air.
Antonio Lawrence Raymond's older brother. He captains the Aldous for Lawrence Logistics, a company run by his family. After the Ydas is destroyed, he receives a request for rescue from a recently stranded Raymond and promptly heads for Aster IV.
Marquis Yzen An latrimancer Laeticia and Albaird sought out for information on the whereabouts of Midas. He is the proprietor of the infirmary in Delryk Village and instructs Nina in the ways of latrimancy.
Filberto Deforges Nina's father and formerly one of the three wise men of Aucerius. He was researching Helgar's disease before the disease took his life seven years ago. Though he never taught Nina latrimancy directly, he left many research materials behind she would use in her future studies.
The Three Wise Men of Aucerius The collective title for three individuals once revered as the most gifted semiomancers in the kingdom. One of their number is Midas Felgreed, who Laeticia and Albaird seek out.
Bunny A plump, rabbit-like mammal that has somehow proliferated throughout the galaxy. They are friendly creatures and the sound they make is very soothing. Bunnies have evolved in various ways depending on their environment. Some of the faster and stronger variants have been domesticated as riding animals. A full-grown bunny is roughly the size of an adult man, while their young grow only as tall as a man's knee. Smaller species of bunny known as mini-bunnies are said to live in secret all over the galaxy. Catch one and something good might happen.
Asterians The civilized human inhabitants of Aster IV. They are no different in appearance from Earthlings or Verguldians. They use the ancient art of semiomancy, which is similar in nature to symbology, to hel the sick and advance their civilization.
Verguldians The civilized inhabitants of Verguld and its surrounding satellite planets. Raymond and Antonio are Verguldians that hail from the satellite planet of Vergnis.
Earthlings The civilized human inhabitants of Earth. They established the Terran Alliance in 10 SD, now known as the Pangalactic Federation. Many officers in the Federation hail from Earth, even to this day.
Giga Toad The first monster Raymond encounters on Aster IV. They are the most ferocious creatures in the Larcasse Weald.
U.D. Hercules A giant Scum-controlled golem ecountered in the Mhedume Ruins. Its terrifyingly destructive fists can shatter their target on impact.
Mother Worm A giant worm that appeared in the depths of the Delryk Mines. The sight of its enormous nest covered in eggs is enough to make anyone scream in horror.

Organizations[]

Name Entry
The Pangalactic Federation An enormous federal organization primarily based on Earth. Founded as the Terran Alliance in 10 SD, it later adopted the Pangalactic Federation name after expanding its power further. Its current deep space exploration (two years each way) is 4,000 to 6,000 light-years based around Sector Theta. There are also expeditions underway in Sector Alpha, Beta, Eta, and Iota.
Lawrence Logistics A transport company with headquarters on Vergnis, a satellite planet of Verguld. Its president is Raul Lawrence. In addition to the transport of goods, the company also oversees material procurement and sales, thus undertaking a role in regulating logistics. They are the top business of their kind in all of Verguld.
Arnold Robotics A robotics company headquartered on Verguld that manufactures and sells many androids of superior quality like Elena. Arnold Robotics androids far outclass those of neighboring powers in performance, hence they have become a point of contention between the Pangalactic Federation and Verguld, and one reason for the Federation's persistent entreaties for them to join the Federation and share their technology.

Planets/Celestial Bodies[]

Name Entry
Aster IV The fourth planet in the Aster System. It is located on the edge of Sector Alpha. It has an axial tilt of 25.6 degrees and gravity of 1.2 g. It is also home to unique native cultures. From the perspective of the Pangalactic Federation, it is a so-called underdeveloped planet. There are two major nations on its largest continent: the Kingdom of Aucerius in the west and the Vey'l Empire in the east.
The Planet of Verguld A planet found near the border between Sectors Alpha and Sigma. As a developed planet not affiliated with the Pangalactic Federation, it has made great advancements in android technology. It is the fourth and primary planet in the Verguld Sector, but the third and fifth planets are also settled. The people of Verguld have also settled several satellite planets, one of them being Vergnis.
The Sol System A system with a star called "Sol" at its center. It is composed of countless celestial objects like planets, satellites, asteroids, and comets. The system is also home to several worlds that boast giant metropolises such as Earth, Luna, Mars, Phobos, Deimos, Io, and Titan. It is no exaggeration to say that it is the center of the Pangalactic Federation.
Earth The third planet in the Sol System. It is located one astronomical unit from Sol, has a revolution period of 365.25 days, a rotation period of twenty-three hours and fifty-six minutes, and a population of over six billion humans. As it happens, one astronomical unit, or "au," is the equivalent of the distance between Earth and Sol (approximately 93 million miles).

Techniques/Theories[]

Name Entry
The Underdeveloped Planet Preservation Pact An agreement created to protect planets with early civilizations as well as strictly regulate contact with cultures that have not progressed to a certain level under Federation law. The reason for its existence is the strong risk that interaction with highly advanced outsiders will greatly influence the entire course of a planet's history. Any and all persons and powers belonging to the Pangalactic Federation are obligated to abide by the conditions of the pact, excepting such instances where there is a clear and present threat to life. The pact is one of the paramount agreements within the Federation, as well as a precept for actions in times of emergency.

Spacedate A calendar of which the initial year is 2087 A.D. This means of numbering years was established on Earth, the third planet in the Sol System, and was then later adopted as the official system of the Pangalactic Federation. 2087 was chosen due to it being the year when Professor Trillas Bachtein developed the subspace warp system, enabling faster-than-light travel through interstellar spaces for the first time. Exactly four years from the date Earthlings made their debut interstellar FTL voyage on March 7th, the Earth government at the time declared the year 2087 as the beginning of Spacedate (SD) to commemorate this momentous event.
Sector One of the terms of demarcation used to define locations within the void of space, specifically used to divide the galaxy into twenty-five portions of equal size for convenience. Each sector is of a prism shape with a perfectly hexagonal base, allowing each of them to fit together with regularity and thus partition the galaxy. The sector that contains the center of the galaxy is denoted specially as Sector Zero. A straight line is then drawn from the center of Sector Zero toward the heart of space, with the surrounding sectors bearing names such as "Sector Alpha," "Sector Beta," and so on in a spiral order from said line.
Semiomancy An art similar to symbology that is prevalent on Aster IV. It has its origins in patterns called "coils" found in a certain set of ruins. The question of who created these coils remains unknown.

Transporter A system developed in 207 SD that consists of devices capable of analyzing objects at a specific location and then perfectly reconstituting at the quantum level in a new location of the operator's choosing. Though transfer of matter using such systems was once thought impossible due to the presence of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, the advent of this technology made pseudo transfers a reality.
Transfer Sickness
Communicator
Symbology An art discovered in 346 SD on the planet Roak whereby certain phenomena can be brought forth through the three aspects of invocation, marking, and mental power near an inscription of a special type of design called a symbol.
