Ren Amamiya (雨宮 蓮, Amamiya Ren?), codename Joker (ジョーカー, Jōkā?), is a guest character in Star Ocean: Anamnesis who appears during the collaboration with Persona 5 Royal.
The protagonist of Persona 5, Ren is a quiet transfer student at Shujin Academy. Secretly, he is the strong-willed leader of the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, a group devoted to "stealing" the corrupt hearts of "evil" adults in order to reform society for the better.

While exploring a Palace with the other Phantom Thieves of Hearts, Joker and Kasumi find themselves at an Earth university within the star ocean circa S.D. 367, brought by a strange voice's calling. They decide to investigate who or what called them. They see Rena Lanford arrive and touch the mirror to get rid of her worries, but she leaves before they can talk. In the following days, Joker and Kasumi gather information about their surroundings and a way to go back, but they are unsuccessful.
When Rena returns before the mirror days later due to the disappearance of several students, Joker and Kasumi appear before her. She attacks, but Joker says they have no intention to fight her. After their explanation, Rena offers to help them find a way home. However, the "Angel in the Mirror" pulls them into a prison-like location and they look for a way to escape. After talking a bit about her friends and adventures, Rena asks what Kasumi what they do. When told, Rena likens them to heroes and feels like she still has ways to go. Joker says that surely she also fought desperately for her friends. Rena agrees, but feels out of place and lonely despite her friends' support. Joker tells her about the nature of Palaces and that she probably isn't as alone as she feels.
They find Makoto Yuki and Yu Narukami, who were brought there from the start and kept Rena's fellow students safe from monsters. One monster mentions details from Rena's past, and they suspect the incident to be caused by Rena's Shadow. From Rena's smartphone, Oracle tells them they are inside the Antenora. They soon meet its core, who wishes to take control of Rena. But thanks to Precis F. Neumann's invention, Rena's friends reach out to her. Rena and the Persona users finish Antenora with an All-Out Attack, and Rena is able to make it recapacitate. The core asks Rena to shut its systems down and absorb its symbological power. Back at the university, Oracle deduces that they will be able to stay as long as Rena wants, after which they will return to their proper time and place.
