Once Upon a Lantern (ランタンに込めた誓い, Rantan ni Kometa Chikai?) was a special event in Star Ocean: Anamnesis. The featured unit is Oracle Nel.

The first of its kind, this event came in three parts without any battles to fight. However, there were in-game achievements to be claimed throughout the event period.

Story

Now far away from her homeworld of Elicoor II, Nel has a bout of depression aboard the GFSS-3214F, which the rest of her Secret Legion cannot help but notice. This time of year marks an important festival in the lives of Elicoorian peoples, honoring the dead and the protector goddess of the dead by floating lanterns over water. The crew, including Tynave and Farleen, must devise a plan to bring the festival to Nel and allow her to take part while in flight.
