Nevelle Zelpher is the father of Nel Zelpher and former leader of the Crimson Blade alongside Adray Lasbard. He was killed by Count Woltar of Airyglyph while trying to ensure the safety of his men.

The former Crimson Blade, Nel's father, and wielder of the Blades of Ryusen, a royal treasure of the Sacred Kingdom of Aquaria.
He has been missing-in-action for several years since a mission to infiltrate the Kingdom of Airyglyph. During his last mission, Nevelle and his men were attacked by the Storm Brigade. Nevelle served as a distraction to buy his men time so that they could flee. Count Woltar later battled and killed Nevelle in a battle that lasted over two hours and was "so fierce, no one else could join in." Woltar knew that Nevelle's true objective was to buy time for his own people to escape, and that he was already prepared to die to meet this objective. When one considers Woltar's skill with a blade, it is evident that Woltar could have captured the exhausted man without taking his life. However, even if Nevelle was to be captured, there is no doubt that all that awaited him was torture most cruel. Nevelle, as a spy, would not be allowed to simply die. Woltar paid his deepest respect to Nel's father, who faced his own death with a steady and unflinching gaze. Before the killing blow, Nevelle made Woltar promise to give his weapons, Aquarian royal treasures known as the Blades of Ryusen, to his daughter, Nel when she became worthy of the honor.
Nevelle's responsibilities as a Crimson Blade were transferred to Nel, who became the leader of the Secret Legion despite not having finished her training as a runologist. Working as a Crimson Blade, Nel started reporting to Queen Aquaria XXVII directly.
After the war between Aquaria and Airyglyph ends, Woltar fulfills Nevelle's promise and bestows the Blades of Ryusen to Nel after she visits his manor to discuss peacekeeping efforts.
Nevelle's widow and Nel's mother, Reisel Zelpher, is alive and resides in one of the inaccessible mansion (pictured) in Aquios.
