Mavelle Froesson is a playable character in Star Ocean, its remake Star Ocean: First Departure, and the spin-off Star Ocean: Anamnesis.

Star Ocean

Mavelle is able to equip orbs and cloth armor. The Silver Robe is restricted to her. Her movement speed is classified as normal (★★☆☆).

Mavelle is packed with high damage ranged, multi-hit area-of-effect arts that allows her to control the battlefield and decimate her opponents. Her three final arts, Southern Cross, Seventh Star and Galaxy, make her truly formidable, with the latter being potentially the most powerful Special Art, capable of racking up high amounts of damage in seconds. That said, she is offset by having a very weak early game, on top of being one of the most fragile party members, with poor defensive stats.

Recruitment

Mavelle can be recruited after reuniting with Ronyx in Ionis, if one of the following conditions is met: Ioshua is in the party (in this case, she will join automatically); Ashlay is in the party (the player can ask her to join); and, finally, no one has been recruited yet (the player must pick the first option "Wait a minute" during a conversation for her to join).

If Mavelle is recruited and is the seventh character to join, the player cannot recruit Phia (in the late game) or T'nique. Additionally, Mavelle is absolutely necessary in order to recruit Erys in First Departure.
