Dictionary Entry[]

(Part 1)

The gods had truly seen fit to smile upon this land. Its fertile plains provide food aplenty, and it is protected by a seemingly-boundless mountain range that acts as a natural fortress. Thanks to this, the country had shed barely a drop of blood in centuries.

This nation of natural bounties is presided over by Bariff XII, whose family had ruled for over three hundred years. Despite having been reared in such a prosperous realm, the king refuses to rest on his laurels. He spares no expense in making military and technological improvements, thus cementing Resulia as the number one power in Vestiel.

While the years had certainly been king to the agrarian nation, that all came to an abrupt end seven years ago when the cold winds of strife swept over the land.

(Part 2)

Although it had long been spared the horrors of war, Resulia was suddenly beset by hordes of nefarious beasts adorned with strange markings. To make matters worse, the same marks--evocative of signets--started to appear on local children as well, and the country eventually metamorphosed from a veritable paradise to a living nightmare.

Not one to take such threats lightly, King Bariff XII quickly dispatched surveyors first, and then troops to deal with the problem. These expeditions could not uncover the exact cause of this feral outbreak, however, and the king had to be content with simply treating its symptoms.

As a result, both the nation's military strength and general prosperity declined rapidly, which opened the floodgates for Trei'kur to declare war. Once a shining beacon for peace and prosperity, admired by countries far and wide, it has been reduced to a land of poverty and fear.
