The King of Krosse is a minor character in Star Ocean: The Second Story and its remake Star Ocean: The Second Story R. He is the ruler of the entire Krosse continent.
Appearance[]
The King of Krosse is an elderly man with shoulder-long, silvergrey hair and a long beard. He wears a golden royal corolla embroidered with rubys. He dresses in a palacious red mink cape with golden rims over a dark blue and black royal garment.
Identity[]
The king of Krosse seems to be pretty popular for being generous and accostable. He also seems to be ruling for a long time by the game's event time. The king's real name is never explicitly given throughout the course of the game. The identity of his wife is never revealed and since she never appears and is never even mentioned by anyone, it is possible that she is no more and the king might be a widower. He has a son named Clauzer T. Krosse, who has gone missing, but is definitively still alive. The royal family keeps his disappearance a secret in order not to disturb the commoners.
Story[]
When Claude C. Kenny and Rena Lanford arrive at Krosse, they decide to meet the king in an audience searching for clues of the Sorcery Globe. The King greets Rena with pleasure, he seems to have known her from her childhood on. He also greets Claude and deems him a brave companion. He then informs the party about the catastrophe on Ell and that no volunteer has ever returned from there. Therefore, he is unable to provide more details about the Sorcery Globe. He welcomes Claude's and Rena's expedition plans and gives them a permit for the port of Kurik. With that document, the party is allowed to leave Krosse via ship.
The King of Krosse does not play any major role in the game afterwards, although the party can request further audiences with him to learn more informations about the investigation process of the Sorcery Globe.
