Ionis is a town from the Silvalant Continent, belonging to the Van Kingdom. Its inhabitants are devoted to the practice of Item Creation, and thus, its stores are filled with ingredients.

Story

Star Ocean/Star Ocean: First Departure

The heroes finally meet with Ronyx after travelling to the past in Ionis, and find him accompanied by Mavelle, a beautiful woman that travels the planet in search of the Crimson Shield, in order to avenge her parents and her brother. Ronyx then sets up a meeting in the local bar, which ends with Ilia and Roddick knocked out by the liquors of Ionis. In the following day, the party heads for the Van y Ille City, where the King of Van is recuriting for warriors to fight against the Archfiend.

Character Recruitment Changes

• If Ioshua and/or Ashlay is in the party, Mavelle automatically joins.
• If Cyuss is alone in the party, Mavelle does not join.
• If neither Cyuss, Ashlay, Ioshua or Phia is in the party, the player can choose whether or not to take Mavelle along.
