Healing

Healing (ヒーリング, Hīringu?), also known as Heal (ヒール, Hīru?), is a recurring symbol in the Star Ocean series. One of the most basic spells, it consists of a low-level symbol that heals a single ally for a small portion of their HP.

Among the many tomes and documents in the Runological Library of Castle Aquaria is the Tome of Healing, which explains about the symbol in an excerpt: "Healing closes wounds by applying a thin membrane of runological force, and then stimulates the body to heal itself. It also refreshes the body from exhaustion, thereby fully curing the target. Unfortunately, this skill cannot reverse the aging process."

Star Ocean/Star Ocean: First Departure[]

Heal costs 4 MP, and restores the HP of a single target. The symbol is known by Millie Chliette, Erys Jerand, Ioshua Jerand by default.

Star Ocean: The Second Story/Second Evolution[]

Heal slightly restores HP for a single party member and is only known to the Nedians (as with all restorative symbols): Rena Lanford and Noel Chandler. It costs 3 MP to cast.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time[]

Anyone can use Healing via the Common Support Symbols skill. Sophia Esteed learns it via leveling, and Adray Lasbard and Nel Zelpher know it by default. It recovers 35% of the target's max HP at the start, and increases as the caster grows more proficient with the symbol. Healing costs 20 Fury and 20 MP to invoke.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope[]

Healing recovers 31% of one ally's maximum HP at level 1. The HP healed increases to 40% at level 10. It does not cost any CP. It is known by Myuria Tionysus and Sarah Jerand by default, while Lymle Lemuri Phi learns the symbol at Level 6. Edge Maverick also learn the skill, obtaining it after first entering Alanaire Citadel.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness[]

Both Miki Sauvester and Fiore Brunelli can learn Healing by reading the skill book Restorative Signets, Vol. 1. The signet restores the HP of one party member, and costs 6 MP to use.

Star Ocean: Anamnesis[]

Healing is a single-hit, long-range battle skill, which costs 40 AP and has a power of INT x 170%. It recover some of a single ally's HP. It is known by Hana, Raffine, Sidonius, Winny, Chloe, Millie, Seer Pamela, Oracle Nel, Robust Heinrich, and Scholar Dominic.
