Guns (銃, Jū?) are a recurring set of weapons in the Star Ocean series. They are long-range, physical-oriented equipment. The term 'gun' is something of an umbrella term to several variant types: guns, launchers (also called cannons) and rifles. Crossbows may be considered guns from time to time, even though they are simply automatic bows.
The rifle-like Kaleidoscope, Opera Vectra's weapon of choice, is a special gun in the series which operates by equipping clips to it, rather than the usual swapping of weapons.
