Story[]

The Second Story[]

Chisato is a reporter for the Nede Times who loves getting into the action, a quality that oftentimes makes her reckless. During Claude and Rena's journey on Energy Nede, the player can spot her sneaking around, and in the Cave of Crimson Crystals, she drops her ID Card during a scene. After clearing the dungeon and picking up the lost ID Card, one must head to Centropolis and talk to her. The player will then be given the option to recruit her.

She was born in North City, and her mother is the owner of the "Blue Flask" item shop. During a Private Action, she can be found in her room sorting through her accessories, finding one labeled "Ashton Anchors", which disturbs her greatly. In another Private Action, depending on how high her affection level is for Claude, she can be seen talking to her mom about him. Chisato never takes center stage (until the end of the game), usually speaking in Private Actions or in random events.

After Energy Nede is destroyed, Chisato, Noel and Rena are the last three pure-blood Nedians still living.

Blue Sphere[]

Immediately after the main storyline, Chisato and Noel now find themselves homeless, and on Expel. They decide they have to live there, but both have seperate difficulties adjusting. Chisato is upset by the primitive nature of Expel, mostly with their lack of a mass communication system. She decides she will do her best to set one up on Expel, as well as continue her journalism. Because of her journalism, she travels to many uncivilized areas of Expel, fighting against monsters there, and improving her fighting skills.

Chisato continues her writing until Precis contacts her about Opera and Ernest's SOS message. She immediately comes to their aid, ready for adventure.

Several years after the destruction of Energy Nede, Chisato helps Rena record the tales and history of Energy Nede up until its 3,700,000,014th year where it was destroyed by the Symbol of Annihilation.

Profile[]

Chisato is a journalist married to her job. Her passion for her work borders on an obsession and she is always seeking the newest information to scoop the competition. She is trained in Jingu-style martial arts and shows no fear when entering dangerous areas for the sake of collecting information (although she is also equipped with a stun gun). Despite having careless tendencies, she believes that uncovering and reporting the truth is her calling.

Chisato's favorite instrument is the Organ, while her favorite food is the Fruit Sandwich.

Gameplay[]

In Star Ocean: The Second Story and its remake, Chisato is a versatile fighter and martial artist, but equips guns. She has the highest movement speed and strikes quite fast. Some of her Special Arts specializing in hitting the enemy multiple times to rack up damage and stun them.

She also makes a playable appearance in Star Ocean: Anamnesis, having two variants: "Chisato", and "Blue Sphere Chisato". Both of her variants are 5-7☆ Attackers who equip knuckles.

Trivia[]

  • In The Second Story, her favorite food was never programmed into the game, making it only available through cheating. This was fixed in the Second Evolution remake.
  • She is one of the three characters in The Second Story not to bar recruitment to other characters (in Second Evolution she is one of four). Chisato and Noel can both be recruited, but since some players may already have seven party members by then, one is forced to choose between the two.
  • Both Chisato and Noel are excluded from Star Ocean EX.
