Fayt Leingod is a playable character in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time and the spin-off Star Ocean: Anamnesis.
Till the End of Time[]
Fayt is the initial playable character and will remain in the party during the whole game. He can equip swords, heavy armor and accessories. The fastest runner in battle, the majority of Fayt's attacks are short ranged and can deal notable amounts of both HP and MP damage. His HP and MP growth rates are above average, but his Defense growth is the highest in the game.
Regarding his abilities, his "Blade" skills Fayt can bestow elements (fire, wind, ice, non-elemental) and MP-damage properties on his normal attacks for a short time; using another battle skill will cancel the effects, whereas higher Mastery levels will allow the effect to last longer. His best skill is the multi-hitting Dimension Door, which deals HP and MP damage in a wide area, may paralyze all enemies, and then has Fayt teleport for a final slash to the initial target. In the Director's Cut versions, Fayt also learns some of the most powerful symbols in the game.
Due to his high Defense, it is possible to build Fayt up—with the Divine Avenger or Levantine swords and Boots of Prowess x7—to the point in which no enemy can damage him, including superbosses Lenneth and Freya depending on the chosen Difficulty Mode.
