Erys Jerand is a playable character in Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Anamnesis.

Star Ocean: First Departure[]

Erys, like Ioshua, uses rods as weapons, and cloth armor. She specializes in healing and offensive Symbology. She sacrifices mid and low tier offensive spells for a wider range of healing and support magic than her brother, while retaining powerful high tier destruction spells. Her preferred elements are Fire and Light, which effect a wide range of creatures despite her lack of resistance diversity.

Recruitment

In order to get Erys, the player needs to have recruited Ashlay, Ioshua, and Mavelle. After recruiting those three, the party needs go into the Old Race Ruins, northeast of Silvalant. Deep into the ruins, there is a room with bodies of Muah. The player must pick the second option ("Help Ioshua") in order to get Erys. Recruiting Erys, however, means that Mavelle will be permanently removed from the party. Additionally, Mavelle's affection ratings are carried over to Erys.
