??? | Fidel Camuze | The son of possibly the most famous swordsman in all of Resulia, he is often left to his own devices while his father is off advising the Central Resulian Army. In his father's absence, Fidel has taken over as the master of their tiny training hall in their hometown of Sthal. Although he began practicing the way of the sword with his friend Ted since the time they were knee-high to honeybees, it had always seemed more like a chore to him than a passion; the only reason he continued was because of his father's standing. Some time after coming of age, however, sword fighting finally grew on him. His latent talents blossomed, and he has become a fierce warrior in his own right. During this recent period of instability, termed the "Seven Years of Dusk," Fidel has proven a pillar of strength for his community- a task made even more daunting without his father around to help. |
??? | Ted | Ted was born and raised in Sthal along with Fidel, and the two began learning the tips and tricks of sword wielding from Daril at an early age. Although his skills with the blade are comparable to Fidel's, he lacks the notoriety of the Camuze household. Thus, he is sadly relegated to play second fiddle to Fidel for as long as his friend is alive. |
??? | Miki Sauvester | Miki grew up with Fidel, and the two consider each other childhood friends. Being five years younger than Fidel, however, she views him as a more of big brother than a normal friend. She can use signeturgy, that unique form of sorcery endemic to her home continent of Vestiel. In order to activate her powers, she has signets imbued upon her back, the appearance of which can only be described as resembling tribal tattoos. While offensive signeturgy obviously exists, she practices a more defensive style with a focus on healing. Though she would be loath to admit it, she is not very proficient with the attack-oriented half of this art. |
??? | Daril Camuze | There may not be a person in all of Resulia who does not know the name of Fidel's father, Daril Camuze. That fame earned him the position of military advisor in the Central Resulian Army, and while the army's soldiers have certainly benefited from his instruction, it leaves him barely any time to return to his hometown. Sadly, his absences have only grown more frequent since the war with Trei'kur began. Daril is not only renowned for his swordsmanship, but is also widely beloved by civilians and soldiers alike, with Victor Oakville being one of his most outspoken admirers. |
??? | Victor Oakville | Victor is a member of an elite group of soldiers in the Central Resulian Army called the King's Chosen, a special ops-style brigade. Through the years, he has risen high enough in its ranks to become the leader of the 3rd Ranger Unit. Ever since he has joined the military, he has been learning the way of the sword from Fidel's father Daril, whom he admires enough to call Master. All Victor's subordinates hold him in high esteem, and he has the strongest sense of duty of anyone in the land. As he is an adept soldier in the midst of a war, his skills are highly valued and he is often called upon to eliminate any foe who stands in opposition of Resulia. Although he never hesitates to fulfill these orders, Victor is not a killing machine; he does hold reservations about ending others' lives. The armor he wears is standard issue for an operative in the King's Chosen. The ensigns of both the army as a whole and his brigade are emblazoned on the right shoulder, which are sources of both pride and confidence for him. |
??? | Relia | Relia literally drops into Fidel and Miki's lives after a mysterious incident on the Dakaav Footpath. She has no memory of what transplanted before meeting the two Sthalians, shows little to no emotion, and has no clue about what is going on around her. Fidel and Miki decide they cannot leave this amnesiac girl to her own devices, and they bring her with them on their journey. During their travels together, Relia gradually regains her memory and feelings, but also awakens a power that had lain dormant within her. This ability of hers is not signeturgical, but symbological, therefore her esoteric markings only appear when her power activates. |
??? | Fiore Brunelli | Fiore is a signeturge who was born and raised in Langdauq's capital of Santeroule, which is also the capital of all things signeturgical. She worked as a researcher at the Royal Institute of Signetary Studies, the holy grail for all those interested in the arcane artes. Not only is she knowledgeable of signeturgy, but is one of the most proficient signeturges in the world. While she originally had no plans to leave the institute, she was called upon to assist the struggling nation of Resulia in its war effort. As this was a decree from Langdauq's matriarch, Fiore will obviously fulfill her duties, but is not the least bit happy about having to do so. Whether or not the purpose of her revealing clothes is to show off her myriad complex signets, they can be seen peeking out from beneath her leggings and mini-skirt as visual proof of her sorcerous accomplishments. |
??? | Emmerson T. Kenny | This man is one of the two mysterious people who helped save everyone from those eldritch soldiers dressed entirely in black. From the way he acts, it is obvious he is hiding something, but the fact that he is willing to risk his own life to protect Relia is all the Vesielians need to know right now. Emmerson is both a bachelor and a womanizer. Page 2: Not simply an officer in the Pangalactic Federation, Emmerson is the captain of the hybrid survey vessel and battleship GFSS-2417F, commonly known as the Charles D. Goale. As his last name suggests, he comes from the most prestigious military family in the federation. Because of that fact, his vocation was decided for him before he was even born. While he was conflicted about this at first, he could not deny his innate talents as a soldier, and he ultimately became an officer in the military. He upbringing and family name obviously helped his case, but one does not simply ascend to the rank of captain in the federation due to nepotism; he is more than capable of fulfilling his positional duties. Emmerson has been promised a post at command headquarters in the near future, but he has little interest in sitting behind a desk, which is why he accepted this mission to explore the far reaches of the galaxy. |
??? | Anne Patriceani | She is one of the people who helped Fidel and his companions escape those mysterious black-clad soldiers, although her origins and intentions are hardly clear, either. Skilled in hand-to-hand combat, she is even better than her more menacing partner at traditional fighting styles. Anne is a determined and resolute person, and perhaps that is why it falls to her to bail Emmerson out of all the misunderstandings he creates. Page 2: Anne is a science officer aboard the GFSS-2417F, or the Charles D. Goale, and works directly under Emmerson. She holds the rank of lieutenant. |
??? | Feria | Feria was brought up in the same environment as Relia--that of a symbological research test subject. Having been in the facility longer, she is seen by Relia as an elder sister. Like her younger sibling, Feria also survived the procedure to apply symbols to her. She also looks identical to Relia and possesses exactly the same DNA. The only difference between them is that her hair has been cut short. |
??? | Gunter | As an operative in the 3rd Ranger Unit of the King's Chosen, Gunter works under Victor. He is usually the first one to infiltrate the group's targets, and the amount of muscle he has certainly makes that task easier. That muscle and enthusiasm belie his acumen, however, as he is one of the most prepared and calculating operatives in the Central Resulian Army. Thanks to his unique skill set, Victor knows Gunter can get the job done when the going gets tough. He and his subordinate share a special bond, so much so that the other soldiers began to call Gunter "Victor's little brother." Gunter may already contribute so much to the group, but he can still be a little rough around the edges during fights. Daks sees great potential in this plucky fighter's style, and acts as his mentor when Victor cannot spare the time. Spurning the sword, Gunter prefers to duel with his bare hands...and toned as he is, one can easily see why. |
??? | Hana | The youngest member and only female of Victor's 3rd Ranger Unit, Hana has already proven herself to an extent, but she refuses to stop there; she is absolutely determined to show everyone how adept she is as a signeturge. Hana was not always so determined to exercise her sorcerous skills on the battlefield, however; she used to work at the royal institute. During her stint there, she cooperated with Fiore on multiple projects, but she ultimately decided that the strongest army on the continent was a more appropriate forum to showcase her powers than in the laboratory. She comes from a fairly wealthy family, but has never let it go to her head. |
??? | Daks | Daks's placement under Victor in the 3rd Ranger Unit of the King's Chosen was somewhat of a coincidence, because the two were both born in Sohma. He may also be older than his boss by almost a decade, but Daks still pays Victor the utmost respect. Likewise, Victor greatly values Daks and his role in the squad. Without the intelligence Daks gathers for the team by scouting and infiltrating bases, the 3rd unit would not even be able to create a plan of action. Although each of Victor's unit is invaluable, they would essentially be shooting in the dark without Daks. Whole missions rest on his aging shoulders and the accuracy of the information that he presents. Though preparation is his main task, it would be a mistake to assume his job is finished once the necessary intelligence is gathered. He often assists Gunter on the front lines during assaults, or falls back and offers support with his crossbow from afar. |
??? | Der-Suul | As one of the most aggressive and ruthless men in the country, it makes complete sense that he leads the Trei'kur Imperial Military--the largest collective of violent individuals in a nation that seems to constantly be at war. Though skilled with a sword, he is more comfortable with conjuring a signeturgical blaze to wreak havoc for him. Moreover, while he may have been raised in a spartan society, he never hesitates to employ deceit and treachery to achieve his goals. He also views Daril as a rival, and will take every opportunity to combat the Resulian swordsman and insult him about his age. |
??? | General Alma | Alma is the leader of a militant faction that seceded from Kronos's army. As part of his plan to eradicate the Pangalactic Federation, he established laboratories on Faykreed IV and forced scientists to research the power that Relia and Feria possess. He sent an inflammatory challenge to Fidel and Emmerson that urged them to settle things once and for all on the battlefield. |
??? | Pavine | A general in the Kronos army, his orders are to recover Relia from Fidel's band of adventurers. Pavine lives by the mantra of "might makes right," and is extremely prideful, which means his preferred method of solving conflicts is to hack whoever opposes him to unidentifiable pieces. Coupled with his truculent attitude is a seething, dogmatic hatred for the Pangalactic Federation. |
??? | Raffine | One of the researchers at Symbological Facility Prime who disagrees with Alma's immoral methods, Raffine decides to aid Fidel and the others in their mission. Her most fervent wish to for Relia and Feria to be emancipated from their tragic lives as test subjects. |

028 | Tiffan Delacroix | As the first officer aboard the GFSS-2417F, Tiffan is Emmerson's second in command. He may still be relatively young, but he has a good head on his shoulders and is calm under pressure. Not only that, but he is an organizational genius; in other words, someone his boss cannot do without. Though he may express his disapproval at the uncouth diction Emmerson often chooses, he understands at heart what his captain means and always supports him in his endeavors. Tiffan also happens to be from the same home country as Anne. Moreover, they were both in the same class at the Federation Academy of the Sciences. |

032 | Welch Vineyard | This young inventor is simply overflowing with enthusiasm for item creation... but has not a drop to spare for doing the legwork of gathering necessary materials. Given the chance, Welch will immediately launch into a self-encomium praising her unparalleled intelligence, breathtaking beauty, boundless largess, and immaculate work ethic. While she may or may not actually possess those traits, they are basically the only clues anyone has to her identity, for the details of her life remain veiled behind a curtain of ambiguity. |
