Defeat Michael! (ミカエルを倒せ！, Mikaeru o Taose!?), also known as Michael Descends, is a boss event in Star Ocean: Anamnesis. The story is continued from VR Arena Battle: Hell's Siren.
The featured characters are Rena and Dias. Defeating the boss yields the titles 4☆ "Defeat the Crimson Oracle" (紅蓮の申し子討伐, Guren no Mōshigo Tōbatsu?) and 5☆ "Yikes! Hot, Hot, Hot!" (うぉおお、熱つちい！, O~oo, Netsutsuchī!?).
Story[]
Aboard the GFSS-3214F, Coro finds himself at the Battle Simulator once again, and Evelysse asks if it is broken again. Coro replies that he doesn't think there is anything wrong with it, but somehow they find themselves again in Energy Nede's Fun City. This time, however, it is in flames, finding a huge fire over at the Arena. Following Evelysse's lead, the Captain and Coro also go inside the Arena to see if they can help. They find Rena Lanford and Claude C. Kenny keeping Michael, one of the Ten Wise Men, distracted while Bowman Jeane and the others help in the city's evacuation efforts. Evelysse, skipping explanations, quickly tells Claude and Rena that they are here to help.
After Michael is defeated, Claude thanks the interlopers for their help, while Rena informs them that those injured sustained no more than minor burns, believing the situation would have gone worse if the Captain and company hadn't intervened. Claude then asks how they came to be here (since they clearly aren't Nedians), and Evelysse explains the history of their battle simulator. Although it was unfortunate circumstances that led them here, Rena is thankful that they are here nevertheless.
Coro suddenly proposes that their space-time coordinates converged on this point so that they could resolve the situation; it wasn't as they thought a matter of chance, but of destiny. Evelysse tells him not to make excuses, while privately thinking it does seem like fate brought them together. The Captain notices, but Evelysse deflects and suggests that they try to get back to where they started from. Claude and Rena bid the trio goodbye, looking forward to fate making their paths cross again. Upon returning, Coro retuns to the bridge almost immediately. Thinking they are alone, Evelysse says they were lucky to run into Claude and Rena, and they had Coro to thank for that, but asks the Captain not to tell Coro that. However, Coro overhears and tells Eve to learn to be honest with her feelings, startling the duo. Evelysse asks that why he isn't in the bridge, but Coro simply answers he was "just on his way" there.
